Miyamoto: Luigi’s Mansion Wasn’t Inspired By Ghostbusters

luigis_mansion_dark_moon_ghostLuigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon features a multiplayer mode, ScareScraper, in which up to four players can team up to hunt down ghosts in a haunted building. In an interview, ABC told the Nintendo 3DS game’s producer, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, that ScareScraper has a Ghostbusters vibe. Miyamoto responded by saying that, while he is a fan of the film, it wasn’t an inspiration for the original Luigi’s Mansion on Nintendo GameCube.
